Today's Random Smattering Of Stuff.
(otherwise known as ... I have nothing better to say.)

NewBoy/Pinto/Boon/Otter: The romance (or his just trying to get in my pants) continues. He is out of town for a few days, and I called this AM to tell him good morning (hey, one good turn deserves another, right?) ... there was one hitch in that giddy-up-along, though. I called at 8:15, and his flight took off at 7:40. Oops. I meant well, really I did. So I just left a VM and went on about my day. As I was IMing with MAV, he called to chat. He had arrived safely, and was thrilled that there was ample liquor there. We chatted for a few, and then he excused himself, presumably to make another beer run. He really does need a suitable name, as I think he may stick around for a little while. We shall see.

J: J surfaced this morning, letting me know that he's been working like crazy in this heat. (He installs hardware and wiring for a private firm that contracts for the government, and most places he works are not air-conditioned.) I replied that it's too bad that he has been working out in the heat ... as I like him sweaty. This was met with a hearty laugh and a "oh, do you now." It interests me to see what he wants, as I have pretty much just written him off. I think he has issues. And, coming from me ... that's saying a lot.

Work: Work has been kicking my ass. I'm tired of the circle-jerking going on all day long. For God's sake - a screwup on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. I finally just packed up and left at 5 today, because I couldn't take any more.

Princess: Cute. Ornery. Cute. I miss her - she'll be home tomorrow night for Wednesday and Thursday nights. It's sure quiet when she's not here!

Fish: Still alive. Thank God for small miracles. I'm seriously considering getting a 10-gallon for my bedroom (it's done in a palm-tree motif, so it would fit in nicely).

House: I'm cleaning, as I'm having company this Sunday. I have this unnatural need to disinfect the kitchen and bathrooms at least weekly, and it's hard to do so when Princess is running amok, trying to throw the cat into the mop bucket. I'm not cleaning in the nude though ... to answer NewBoy's inevitable question.

On my "movies to see" list: Collateral, Manchurian Candidate, Little Black Book, Garden State.

Currently on my TV: I Love The 80s. I'm addicted to all of these cheesy "I LOVE THE ..." shows. At 9, Billy Madison. I just can't get enough Adam Sandler. Side note ... anyone heard 311's version of "Love Song" (from 50 First Dates)? It's getting some airplay here on the Top 40 station. Nothing like bastardizing a good song.

On my shopping list: nine-grain bread. I really love good fresh bread, maybe I'll cruise Panera tomorrow and pick some up.

What else do you want to know about? To borrow a phrase from Murphy: You ask. I answer. You decide.
